RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY. There are certain risks, which are inherent in any hike, or other Club activity. Each KTC member, guest, or non-member hiker agrees to accept personal responsibility for his or her safety and the safety of minors accompanying such persons. The Club cannot ensure the safety of any participant on hikes. In participating in Club hikes, each such person agrees to hold harmless and free from blame the hike leaders, the KTC, its officers and members, and property owners, for any accident, injury, or illness which might be sustained from participating in hikes or other Club activities.
IMPORTANT!
- Read all hike descriptions!
- Know your limitations!
- Carry water!!
- Notify leader if you choose to leave the hike!
- Hike Leader has the right to refuse any unprepared person from a hike!
THE MEETING PLACE: Hikers are to meet at the Stonewall Station Post Office Parking Lot - corner of Ohio & Randolph Streets on the West Side of Charleston to car pool to hike locations unless the schedule specifically indicates another meeting place (or time).

Sun. Mar 2nd 1:30 p.m. -- LITTLE CREEK PARK HIKE Approx. 3-4 miles through Trace Fork Canyon with nice geological features. (Re-group at Area #2) No creek crossings; moderate grades with some tricky footing. Shorter Version: Approx. 1-1/2 -2 miles and will return to cars via paved road.

Sun. Mar. 9th 1:30 p.m. - WINE CELLAR PARK, DUNBAR, WV HIKE Approx. 4 miles with moderate hills; possible short steep areas; expect muddy pathway. Shorter Version: Approx. 1-1/2 -2 miles on first part that is flat with a creek crossing; turn back at anytime.

Sun. Mar. 16th 1:30 p.m. -ROCK CAMP BRANCH & BAYS FORK -- NEW KSF HIKE Approx. 5-6 miles Several creek crossings; moderate hills; one steep climb. Shorter Version: Approx. 1-1/2 -2 miles on first part that is flat with stream crossings; turn back at anytime.

Sat. Mar. 22nd 8:00 a.m. - CAMP CREEK STATE FOREST, PRINCETON, WV -- NEW HIKE (Re-group at park headquarters for snacks) Approx. 8 miles -. Neely Knob is moderate to difficult; has 2 stream crossings with an alternate route if high water levels. Easier Version Approx. 1-1/2 -2 miles includes trails and roads leading to scenic water falls.

Mar. 23rd 1:30 p.m. - COONSKIN PARK HIKE (Re-group at swimming pool parking lot) Approx. 3-4 miles Walk along River Trail to the Nature Trail and adjacent areas; moderate grades with some tricky footing. Shorter Version: Approx. 1-1/2 -2 miles returning along road before doing the Nature Trail.

Sun. Mar. 30th 1:30 p.m. - RIDENOUR LAKE, NITRO, WV HIKE (Re-group at lake parking lot) Approx. 4 miles Moderate with one long hill; beautiful views at top. Shorter Version: Approx. 1 mile around lake

Sun. Apr. 6th 12:00 p.m. - CHARLES FORK LAKE DAM, NEAR SPENCER, ROANE CO., WV HIKE Approx 6 miles along a ridge which overlooks the lake; several hilly sections; Shorter Version: Approx 1-1/2 - 2 miles invite a friend and meander around the dam.

Sat. Apr. 12th 8:00 a.m. - BEARLY DROOPY CHOCOLATE HIKE POCAHONTAS CO., WV-- 2 PART HIKE & A FESTIVAL (Re-group at BEARTOWN STATE PARK) First: Hike Approx. 1.5 miles among amazing rock formations on a boardwalk with steps & handrails. Second: Drive to DROOP MTN. STATE PARK hike 2 miles around a Civil War battlefield mostly flat and scenic. Last go to Chocolate Festival in Lewisburg. Bring a light snack for the trail & money for a meal in Lewisburg. Return to Charleston by 7:00 p.m.

Apr. 13th 1:00 p.m. - KSF - SALAD HIKE & SOCIAL TIME (Re-group at KSF Lodge) At 2:00 P.M. meet for a hike at the JOHNSON HOLLOW parking area for a 2-loop hike -- Approx 1.5 miles on Logtown / Johnson Hollow Trails; Then Approx 2.5 miles on Rocky Ridge/Pigeon Roost Trails; Hike one or both; rocky terrain, & hills. Bring a salad, salad topping, bread, beverages, or a dessert to share. Plan to eat around 5:00 p.m.

Sat. Apr.19th 8:00 p.m. - CARTER CAVES KY STATE PARK - KISER HOLLOW TRAIL Approx 10-11 miles hike with mixed footing and hills with Ron Cockeram (Leader). Shorter Version: Hike Approx 5-6 miles with mixed footing and hills with Cathy Mills (Leader). Dinner afterward at an Italian restaurant or Carter Caves SP Lodge.
Sun. Apr. 20th 1:30 p.m. - KSF - SALAMANDER & WHITE HOLLOW TRAILS HIKE (Re-group at mouth of Polly Hollow) Begin with Shorter Version on the Salamander Trail Approx 1 mile Longer Version will continue on White Hollow Trail to top mountain (very steep) then to Davis Creek Overlook Approx 3-1/2 miles
